Our History

North Asheville Christian School was launched in the fall of 1999 as a ministry of North Asheville Baptist Church (now Brookstone Church). The school was the realization of the vision of Pastor Jim Dykes, Senior Pastor of Brookstone. The school was blessed to begin with twenty-six young students and four faculty under the direction of Mrs. Susie Hepler, our founding Administrator. Each year additional grades and faculty were added, with the Middle School opening in fall of 2002. During that same year, North Asheville Baptist Church (Brookstone) built a multipurpose building on the campus which housed a gymnasium, which quickly became the home of Crusader Athletics.

During August of 2005, our freshman class initiated the first year of North Asheville Christian High School. Additional classroom space was added in the multipurpose building to accommodate the Upper School program. Four years later, in May of 2009, NACS graduated our first Senior Class of five students. This event was the culmination of many years of seeking the Lord’s wisdom and will, and seeing His hand of blessing upon the vision cast so many years before. Over the years, this growth has led to full accreditation with the Association of Christian Schools International. Since then hundreds of students have walked our hallways, learning and growing in the discipleship of Jesus Christ and preparing for the calling on their lives.

During the 2015-2016 school year, NACS began the transition to a fully independent community Christian School. Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy officially launched on August 1, 2016.
